What Can Botox Do for Me?
Although most people know about Botox and understand Botox helps to stop wrinkle formation, many people aren’t fully aware of how Botox cosmetic can be used in specific areas of the face and body. Here is quick summary of what Botox can do for patients.
Forehead Botox
The most common area that our med spa aesthetic team treats is the forehead region. This includes the horizontal wrinkles that are created when someone tries to raise their brow as well as the glabella wrinkles that are created when you frown. The latter wrinkles are often referred to as the 11’s or 11 lines that form in between the eyebrows. An example of this type of Botox treatment is shown here in this younger female patient who disliked the excess wrinkle formation across her forehead. Following Botox injection, you can see how much smoother her forehead became, even with attempted elevation of her eyebrows.
Crow’s feet Botox
The crow’s feet refer to those pesky radial lines, or wrinkles that form around the sides of the eye, particularly when smiling. The crow’s feet are commonly injected at the same time as the forehead is treated with Botox because the results you see in one area can enhance the others – especially when it comes to giving you a little chemical brow lift from Botox!
Masseter Botox
The masseter muscle is one of the muscles involved in chewing and sits off to the side of the face. Injecting Botox into the masseter muscle can sometimes help thin out someone’s face if the muscle is making the face appear too wide from the front view. In female Botox patients, this can be particularly nice in creating a more feminine, slimming facial appearance. Another reason why the masseter muscle is injected with Botox is to help reduce symptoms of TMJ. In some patients, clenching of the jaw can make TMJ symptoms much worse. If Botox is injected properly, this can help reduce the pain and discomfort associated with TMJ.
Chin peau de orange Botox
A funny area that many patients don’t really think about for Botox is the chin. In many patients, the chin muscles can create unwanted wrinkling of the skin – mimicking the surface appearance of an orange. This is why it is commonly referred to as peau de orange, or orange peel. A little Botox injection into the chin can really help reduce this peau de orange.
Bunny lines Botox
Bunny lines are those wrinkles created when people scrunch their nose. These animation lines can bother some patients. Fortunately, Botox can effectively smooth out these wrinkles.
Nefertiti Botox
Nefertiti was an Egyptian queen known for her beautiful neckline. When Botox is injected into strategic areas of the jawline and neck, it can help give a chemical neck lift to patients – sometimes referred to as the Nefertiti neck lift.
Arm pit Botox
Botox is well-known for its ability to slow down activity of sweat glands when injected very superficially into the skin. When Botox is injected into the arm pit, or axilla, in this manner it can help dramatically reduce unwanted arm pit sweating.
