Unilateral Otoplasty

This otoplasty patient of mine was seen in follow-up evaluation just recently and is a great example of how otoplasty, or ear reshaping, can be done for patients who have only one ear that is prominent. This male patient presented to our office with a chief complaint that his left ear has always stuck out further than his right. Indeed, his left ear was clearly less developed than his right and was definitely more prominent. I subsequently performed a unilateral (one sided) otoplasty, or ear reshaping procedure, on his left side. The incisions were completely hidden behind the ear to minimize any signs of having had surgery. His before and after photos below demonstrate a significant improvement in positioning of the left ear. In fact, he now looks quite symmetric and appears as if he could have easily been born like this. If you have overly prominent ears and are considering otoplasty, or ear reshaping, we would be happy to offer a complimentary consultation to discuss the various options available.
